Pre-Summit Training Sessions and Workshops, November 26th Pre-Summit Training Sessions include an all-day intensive seminar on Wednesday 26 November, Summit Entry Fee, including luncheon presentations and Gala Dinner, transportation to and from Toulouse or Barcelona airports, and three nights 4-star Hotel with breakfast. Admission to the Pre-Summit Dinner Discussion group is also included. Spouses are welcome, but must be pre-registered. All workshops are presented in English unless otherwise noted. More Innovation Workshop: A methodology for sustainable growth Being on the cutting edge of creating innovative and sustainable solutions means employing a new approach. Leading the sustainable organization: Tools and techniques to harness creativity and entrpreneurship within your firm This one-day intensive workshop with three phases is lead by the well-known industrial psychologist and Associate Director of IOR CONSULTING, Xavier Orozco, who is a prominent consultant for the selection of high-level directors and a strategic human resource planner as well as professor of leadership and development for the University of Barcelona. José Antonio Lavado, Managing partner of Bidea, company specialized in sustainable development for businesses will also lead the workshop. Pedro Mier, Executive Board Member of Mier Communications, Spanish leader in network TV and high-tech products for the European Space Agency, will join the trainers introducing the key factors for the innovation in a sustainable company. The group of participants (limit 20 persons) will leave this workshop with: a strategic plan for leading a sustainable company, a profile for what sustainable leadership will mean to their firm, and a roadmap for harnessing creativity and directing it into sustainable innovation for sustainable growth. Workshop A: Responsible Purchasing: Fair Trade in Theory and Practice More and more, both public and private organizations are incorporating ecological and social variables in their purchasing criteria. The objective of this workshop is to determine which are the principal impacts generated by the products which an organization consumes. Determine, as well, which criteria and means can be used to diminish any negative impacts, eliminate them, or ultimately convert them into positives for the organization. Topics Covered: Concepts, Responsible Purchasing, Principle purchasing groups and their impact, Buying criteria, Existing means. Trainer: Professor Eloi Montcada Elias Workshop B: Creating the Annual Sustainability Report - Methods and Merits This practical workshop will establish guidelines for the process of creating an Annual Sustainability Report according to the G3 of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an international reference that has developed corporate reporting guides. An in-dept look will also be given specific reporting guidelines for multinationals as well as for small and medium sized businesses. Key aspects covered include: Stakeholder Identification, theme and layout of the report, principal content, classification and verification. Best pratices of various existing Sustainability Reports will be analyzed. Participants will work on a case study in small groups in a lively and interactive atmosphere.
