Economic Sustainability:
New Opportunities for Europe

Environmental and societal sustainability are not just simple concepts; they have become business imperatives. Public and private organizations all face challenges implementing these new operating concepts. Europe, with its policies addressing global warming, its commitment to sustainability and its social systems, is in a strong position to demonstrate global leadership on these issues and benefit from the emerging trends.

The Future of Europe Summit 2008 will focus on how Europe can leverage its strengths in the face of the challenges presented by issues of Economic Sustainability - and how to transform these challenges into opportunities. The Summit provides a rare opportunity for you to engage in intense discussions with your peers on how to gauge your policies and optimize your competitive position.

Making Europe More Competitive
The Future of Europe Summit was initiated in 2006 as a forum for offering policy makers and executives solutions on how to make Europe more dynamic and competitive and bring the Lisbon goals of making Europe a leading-edge growth centre a step closer to reality. The conference brings the world to Andorra, and showcases to the outside the innate vitality of this nation.

While the visibility of the Summit has increased following the success of the first two gatherings, in 2006 and 2007, we can promise our participants that we will retain the quality and focus for which this event is becoming known – keeping the networking intimate and the workshop sessions small and productive.

We look forward to welcoming you to this unique opportunity on 27 - 28 November in Andorra.

Addressing Europe's Brainpower Challenge...
The 2007 theme was one of ongoing and strategic importance for the continent of Europe. The recovery in most countries on the continent highlights the structural problems in Europe’s labor market as key sectors for the future. Our countries are suffering from “skills shortage” while overall unemployment remains high despite a noticeable improvement. At the same time, China and India are undergoing a massive effort to expand and enhance their pool of talent, while the US continues to leverage its attractiveness as a major center for knowledge and skills The brainpower challenge is of critical importance for almost any country or any corporation to address.
