Chairman of the Environmental Board, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Hewlett-Packard

Klaus Hieronymi is chairing the ‘Environmental Board’, the decision body for HP’s environmental strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition, he is leading the department of 'Environmental Business Management' at HP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since 1998. In this role he is focusing on how better environmental outcomes lead to better business results, especially in the area of energy and resource conservation, climate change and recycling.

Hieronymi represented HP on the Board of the European Recycling Platform (ERP) until June 2008. Co-founded by HP, Electrolux, Braun-Gillette and Sony, the ERP aims to ensure a cost-effective implementation of the European Union Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, for the benefit of participating companies, their customers, the consumers and ultimately for the environment and the society.

He has published various scientific papers, particularly on the subject of take-back, and has given presentations on environmental topics at several European and international conferences.
