Misha Glenny was born in 1958 and educated at Bristol University and Charles University in Prague. His coverage of the fall of Communism in 1989-90 was widely acclaimed, and led to the writing of his first book, The Rebirth of History.

Misha Glenny is currently working as a political consultant on South Eastern Europe and divides his time between London, Brighton and the region.
