José Antich

José Antich Valero, journalist born on June 23, 1955 in La Seu d'Urgell (Lleida). In 1977 he was editor of the Agency Efe Barcelona. In 1978 he became member of the editorial foundation of “El Periódico de Catalunya”, where he started his political chronicler career. In 1982 he joined the new foundational team of the Catalan edition of “El País”, where he also becomes a political correspondent.  From 1998 to 2000 he assumes the coordination of the whole political area of “La Vanguardia”. On March 21, 2000 he is nominated Director of “La Vanguardia”. He is an author, among other titles of “El Virrey” (Published by Planeta, 1994), a political X-ray of Jordi Pujol. In 2004 he is granted with the VIII reward “Premio Fundación Independiente de Periodismo Camilo José Cela”.
